Work Experience
Personal Projects
My diverse work experience has given me a unique perspective and the ability to adapt to new tasks with ease. I am highly organized, diligent, and thrive in environments where both teaching and learning are key. My background in teaching English to learners at various levels has sharpened my ability to understand people and grasp complex concepts, which translates directly into my work in software design and the IT world as a whole. I excel at identifying user needs and creating solutions that are both practical and innovative.
I consider myself a creative thinker, capable of developing tech solutions from scratch as well as refining existing systems based on user feedback. My passion lies in software development and helping people, and I believe these qualities enable me to excel in various IT roles, from design and feature conception to customer feedback and user support. I am eager to continuously learn and would welcome opportunities to dive deeper into more technical roles with the right guidance.
- My most recent project
To show some of my work and showcase my ability to work on a range of tasks using skills and tools previously unknown to me.
Timeline
From initial concept to a working demo, the project achieved its desired outcomes in just four months. This included the integration of AI, utilizing open-source code from GitHub, self-hosted servers, and development on the no-code platform Bubble. MVP design files were also finalized during this period.
Background
SideStudy's brand identity is rooted in minimalism and clarity. Throughout the design process, I maintained a sleek, distraction-free interface that aligned with the brand’s focus. The concept sought to modernize older UIs while creating a familiar and intuitive experience for users. Social media elements and reading/note-taking features were iterated upon to refine the current design and enhance usability.
Research & Planning
I conducted thorough market research to identify existing AI study tools, user challenges, and preferences. From this, I defined the target audience and outlined key features based on user needs and current market trends. Additionally, I identified areas where AI and other unification strategies could enhance current tools.
MVP Development
Following agile development methodologies, I built an MVP demo hosted on self-managed servers and Bubble.io. This phase involved managing separate code packages and API calls, utilizing basic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python. AI played a role in supporting and optimizing development tasks.
Design & Prototyping
Once the MVP demonstrated the essential tools and features, I shifted focus to UI design in Figma. I iterated through multiple design versions, ensuring alignment with the project’s vision and user expectations.
Testing & Optimization
I conducted interviews with potential users to gather feedback on features, usability, and improvements. This feedback initiated an iterative cycle, resulting in continuous updates to both design and functionality, based on real-world user insights.
Final products
With the final UI design in place, I created an outline and specifications for an external company to produce an explainer SaaS demo video. I also developed a landing page that mirrors the app’s minimalist design, complete with custom-made GIFs to showcase key features and reduce the need for excessive text. The project is now fully prepared for validation and pre-launch marketing campaigns.
